Christmas Angels Concerts sponsored by "The Swede's" and "Garbos"
This year, a new tradition began with concerts hosted on the hillside steps next to The Swede's at the corner of Alas Altas and Pulpito. The children came from Colonia Volcanes which is one of the city's poorest Colonias (neighborhoods) and sang Christmas Carols dressed in beautiful white robes donated by Morgan from the Swede's. Then songs from Puerto Vallarta Men's Choir followed. The free concerts start at 7pm with seating provided by Garbo's and staff from both businesses hand out refreshing punch to onlookers. The crowds grew each night and showed a wonderful appreciation. This joint effort by Garbo's and The Swede's set out to create a new yearly event to raise awareness and funds for the Volcanes Community Education Project. After their songs, the children went through the crowd offering hand-made and signed Angels made by children at the school for a donation of 100 pesos and help pay English and Computer classes at the school.
